The disciples during the time of Jesus’ sacrificial death on the Cross did not know that Jesus will come back from the dead. They wept during Jesus’ death, but after being buried, they scuffled back to their lives, grieving and weeping. Who would have thought that Jesus will come back?
Then maybe they have not listened to Jesus when He prophesied about this! (Mark 8:31). He spoke plainly of it that not even His disciples remembered. Or maybe they heard about it, thought about it, but didn’t know how to wait. They were grieving and weeping but did not wait expectantly.
If you were there and heard Jesus telling about His death and will rise after 3 days, would you wait for Him?
The difference of us from the world is that while we are waiting, we wait while we worship, ponder, serve. We tarry before the Lord.
There may be weeping, but it doesn’t last. Joy comes in the morning! This is only a process!
Why do we wait expectantly? Because the Lord we worship is RISEN!!
“Sing to the Lord, all you godly ones! Praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.”
Psalms 30:4-5 NLT
