JOHN 8:21 – 36
Reflection:
There are several “I am” statements in John’s Gospel: I am the bread of life (John 6:35), I am the light of the world (John 8:12), I am the door (John 10:9), I am the good shepherd (John 10:11), I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live (John 11:25), I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6), I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser” (John 15:1). In John 8:24 I am He implies oneness of the Father and the Son. He is God.
He came down from heaven and manifest in the flesh, and become incarnate; the true Messiah. Sadly a lot of Jews during that time especially the Pharisees did not believe in Him. They suffered the destruction of their nation, city and temple.
Jesus is our only way to salvation. The one and only Mediator between God and man. They that die in unbelief, die in sin; they would be charged with them, and must be answerable for them, and consequently endure the punishment of them, which is the second death.
Let us share Christ that more and more would believe in Him and be saved and they themselves can enjoy the fullness of what believing in Him offers. Remember the story of the rich man and Lazarus in the gospel of John? Let others know Christ before its too late for them.
