JOHN 7:32-53
Reflection:
What do you do when you are thirsty? You drink water. Have you tried not to drink water for 24 consecutive hours?We are all familiar with a healthy advise of drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day to keep us hydrated. Water is essential in every system and function of the body.
In the same way, our spirit has a need. When Jesus stood and cried out on John 7:37“If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.”Jesus was not referring to physical thirst, but our spiritual thirst. Anyone who knows his own thirst is invited.Your body was made to live on water. Your soul was made to live on God. All you have to do is come to Him, believe. And those who believed was give a promise in John 7:38, Jesus said “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'”
When you come to Jesus to drink, you don’t just get a single drink, but you get a spring, a fountain, a well. You get Jesus. Rivers of water will flow because a River-Maker is in you. You will never have to search again for a source of satisfaction for your soul. Every river that needs to flow for the joy of your soul will flow from Jesus.
Jesus doesn’t just have what our souls need; He is what our souls need.
On John 6:35, Jesus was named The Bread of Life, now The Living Water.
Believing on Jesus is coming to him to eat and drink for our soul’s deepest satisfaction, not just for ‘ala-carte’ but for ‘banquet’ or feast. He is overwhelming. His Presence is overwhelming.
He created you & me to have an unquenchable soul thirst that could draw you & me to Him as long as we live.
Everyday we must drink the water and The Living Water…. dahil habang nabubuhay ka kailangan mo ng tubig at kailangan mo ng Tubig na Buhay.
Psalm 42:1As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.Praise You Jesus! Help us to long for You everyday! We need You Jesus more than yesterday and more than words can say!
