JOHN 6: 45-71

Reflection:

Repetition, especially in ancient literature, was meant to signal certainty or importance. When the word is repeated in a sentence in the Bible, He is calling our attention, to listen attentively.

Jesus is giving His own personal declaration, claiming that His statement is absolutely true and that He has absolute, direct, personal knowledge of its truth. Since He is the only one who came from heaven, therefore, He is the only one who can speak with firsthand knowledge about it. This is why Jesus uses the “truly, truly” phrasing in John 6:47, to emphasize the original, personal, absolute nature of His claims.

Jesus has been explaining the true source of eternal life, the One sent by God. He is the Bread of Life.

We choose to believe and thank You Jesus for assured life and secured future in Your hands.
